“Petra affectionately called Pedee” by her siblings, family and close friends was the eldest of three children born to Sophia and Fredrick; God ushered a blessing in the form an angel on a beautiful day on the island of New Providence, at Princess Margaret Hospital on October 31st, 1981.

She was slim medium built, brown smooth and beautiful. She knew all too well how important it was to embrace the invaluable gift of life. She was given the name Petra Clarice Munnings. She was given the nickname of “Pedee Pong” by Aunt Marcia and as she grew it was shortened; hence, she became known to everyone as “Pedee”.

Petra grew up to be a very independent, dedicated, honest, fun-loving, out-going and friendly person. She was most courageous, a mannerly child and more importantly confidant. She grew up surrounded by the love of her pre-deceased grandmother, Enidmae Colebrooke-Storr, her mother, Sophia, her aunts, Rizzo, her foster parents: The Seigrist family of the Mennonites Mission.

She received her early education at the Mastic Point Primary School and later graduated C.R. Walker Secondary High. A short time after, she was employed at Majestic Tours Company as an Accounts Clerk and spent several years in that company.

In her quest for knowledge she became a Certified Professional Secretary; while continuing her education via evening and weekend classes at Nova Southeastern University pursuing A Bachelors in Business Administration. She was most recently employed at Michael Diggiss and Associates as an Office Administrator.

Petra possessed a beautiful spirit, which she displayed in her eagerness to assist others as best as she could. This was evident in her love and affection for her siblings. Petra was always a very vivacious and vigorous person.

Left to cherish her memories: Father: Frederick Rolle, Mother: Sophia Munnings. Grandfather: Benjamin Munnings Sr. Grandmother: Martha Rolle, Sisters: Shania Lynette and Farieba. Brothers: Sanchez and Antaryo. Aunts: Frances (Kirby) Forbes, Virgil (Michael) Lightbourne, Dr. Marcia, Margaret, Joyce (William) McDonald, Patricia (Gladstone) Demeritte, Gladys, Peggy (Franklyn) Winder, Kreva, Debra, Karen, Paulette, Coralee, Joyann and Ellavese. I'm so blessed to have known Petra. Such a wise, ambitious, loving person. Although I don't understand, I know that God is in control and believe that Petra is with the Lord now in peace. Petra -- thank you for being a friend.

Life eternal has begun for Petra but a void is left in the hearts of her "sistahs" who shared many laughs and special moments. Shine on Petra. You are missed.

Petra's smile, warm welcome, and "special" hospitality on every visit to the office of Michael Diggis & Associates still lingers as a vivid memory to a beautiful person and soul. She clearly impressed her Creator that He decided it was time for her to take her role as a heavenly angel. Gone Too Soon!!!

Petra was truly one of a kind. Her smile and vivaciousness will be sorely missed by all the "sistahs" but we thank God for the opportunity given to share in good discussions and laughs; memories we will always treasure. Rest in Peace Petra.

My baby, ”Pedee”, Your sojourn has left indelible marks not only the lives of family, friends, colleagues associates and caregivers of: all ages, ethnic persuasions and from every sphere of life and I am not surprised as that was your legacy; handed down by your grandmother, Enid, Aunt Marcia, Therese Capree and Shania Lynette. As you handed me the baton in the Heavenly Olympic race; your final words was God needs me to coordinate the activities of these events, so it is time to bid farewell. I informed all not to be dismayed for if they live a godly live they will met you again, over on that peaceful shore. I love you more and may your sweet spirit dwell and remain in our lives forever more; thank you for three glorious decades of love.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Petra in life. However, I know her cousin, Alianne. The warmth and compassion that emanates from Alie was enough for me to embrace Petra during her illness. Rest in peace, Petra. Take your rest knowing that you were well loved by all.

I was shocked to learn that Petra had passed away. She and I attended the Certified Professional Classes at the College of the Bahamas. We studied together for the exam and she braided my hair. I am so sorry that her life was taken away at such a young age. She was very ambitious and always pursued her goals academically. I'm sure that she would have earned her Bachelors Degree and would have follow with additional degrees. I'm so sad, sorry and shocked. We have some pictures that we took at the graduation, Petra I will always remember you as a go getter. Grace and Peace to the family!

Wow this is so unbelievable I was second guessing myself when I saw Petra’s pic on TV as death notice the same time my grandaunt. I told my sis this can’t be because a few weeks before we saw her in the mall. Wow it was so crazy around that time until tonight I looked at a request I send to her on Facebook a few months ago and It still reads “friend request sent” so I decide to Google her name and to my surprise I saw her obituary and familiar names from Andros I knew; then reality really hits…This is so sad. Condolences goes out to the family. Rest in peace my dear friend so sorry I could see that beautiful face for the last. I love u so much Petra tears tears
