Funeral service for the late Annie Marie Knowles aged 79 of Fox Hill Road South and formerly of South McKenzie, Long Island, will be held on Friday, 17th March, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church, Bernard Road, Fox Hill. Officiating will be Reverend Fr. Noel Clarke. Interment will follow in St. Anselm’s Cemetery, Bernard Road, Fox Hill.

Annie Maria was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Walter George & Anna Maria Darville and Michael & Ann Arabella Burrows; Parents: Michael Anderson & Effie Frances (Darville) Burrows; Seven (7) of her siblings: Roscoe Burrows, Roland Burrows, Wilfred Burrows, Oscar Leander Burrows, Estella Burrows, Mary Neymour and Lucy Burrows.

Annie Maria is survived by her Husband of sixty-one (61) years: George Headley Knowles, Jr; Four (4) daughters: Bridgette (Emmet) Stuart, Kimberley (Kenwood) Taylor, Anastasia Knowles, Kirsten (Lynden) Fowler; Two (2) sons: George Anthony III (Shelley) Knowles and Jason (Ancilla) Knowles; Thirteen (13) grandchildren: Embri (Brian) Kamau, Cassius (Ashley) Clarke, Toni Bain, Lyndira Fowler, Dominic Knowles, Ebony Stuart, Kenria Taylor, Lynnae Fowler, Cassidy Clarke, Danielle Knowles, Lyneisha Fowler, Zion Knowles and Trinity Knowles; Two (2) great grandchildren: Brianna Kamau and Kaylen Walkine; One (1) sister: Remona Delaney; One (1) brother: Michael “Gus” (Gloria) Burrows; Brothers and Sisters-in law: Randolph Smith, Patricia (Vincent) Curry, Betty Brown, Joanne (Reuben) Knowles and Nathalie Knowles; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, too many to mention; the Burrows and Darville clan of Long Island; the Knowles and Smith clan; Other relatives and friends, including: Father Noel Clarke (her priest), Deacon Ricardo Demeritte and the parishioners of St. Anselm’s Catholic Church; Dr. Gregory Carey (her physician) and staff of St. Luke’s Medical Clinic; former staff of The Carib Shop/Solomon Brothers/Little Switzerland; children of the late Julie Reckley and Harriet Ingraham; her many cake and jam customers from all over The Bahamas; Tito (her gardener); neighbours of Thompson Drive, Fox Hill South (Tuckers, Boyds, Rolles, Minuses, Bains, Nairns, Dorsettes, Thompsons, Bethels); the children and extended family of the late Bishop Theophilus & Cynthia Stuart of The Bluff, North Eleuthera; East Street Cathedral Church of God family; the Honourable Ministers, Permanent Secretary, Senior Executive Leadership Team and staff of the Ministry of the Environment & Natural Resources; the children and extended family of the late Lernix & Emmerline Taylor; Honourable Minister, Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry of National Security; Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clayton Fernander (QPM), Senior Executive Leadership Team, officers and members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF); Bahamas Harvest Church; Gloria McPhee and family; Charles & Laurene Clarke and family; Marjorie Stuart; Commonwealth Bank; St. Gregory the Great Anglican Church; The Bahamas Christian Chorale; Brenda Riley and family; family of the late Rev.   1. On behalf of Dr. Gregory Carey & the Staff of The Family Medical Clinic we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. George Knowles, children and extended family members on the passing of Mrs. Annie Knowles.
    Mrs. Knowles was a lovely and kind person and it has been a pleasure to have known her and take care of her medical concerns over the years. She will be missed!
