The best neighbors i ever had. what a sweet and wonderful woman. she not just a neighbor. she was more… she played loving role as a mother, an aunt, a disciplinary and a wonderful friend… she was extremely helpful to whoever she can help. In me teenage years, she was super helpful to my mom. She use to drop me to school every single day, without hesitation as her son (Paul Major Jr.) and I attended the same school. she was a loving mother to her family. There were nothing bad you could’ve said about Joann. now that I’m all grown up, and moved out of the neighborhood, I sometimes would pass by just to say hi. She would greet me with the utmost LOVE. she always make me feel like I’m one of her own. to the family, please have my DEEPEST DEEPEST DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCERE CONDOLENCES. MAY THE LORD CONTINUE TO GUIDE AND PROTECT YOU ALL. BLESSINGS AND HONOR AND GLORY ARE YOURS FROM NOW THROUGH THE END OF TIME. ETERNAL. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Tuesday 13th May 2025, was a tearful morning for me as Tennessee shared the news of her mother’s passing. I knew of Joann’s illness and visited her at the hospital, not knowing that it would be the last time I would see her.
Joann was a relative of my mother “THE ARCHERS”. We became acquainted during her visits to Holy Trinity Church with her daughters Tennessee and Gina. She introduced herself to me and my sisters and said “Brunetta’s children that’s my family”. Instantly we felt the love and warmth of her personality. The mutual love and friendship grew over the years. Hugs and kisses were always shared and of cause photographs were also taken to mark special occasions.
My family loved her and will always cherish the precious memories.
Sincere condolences are extended to her entire family from Grace Sherman and sisters.
May Joann’s soul Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

  6. Dearest “Joey” as she was affectionately called has gained her wings. As mentioned above, she was a mother figure to many. We didn’t enter or leave the back gate of Queen’s College with saying hi. A no nonsense woman and she did not tolerate foolishness from anybody! She will be missed! My heartfelt condolences to her family. May she Rest In Peaceful Energy.
