Watching his closest friends, colleagues, teammates, and fellow Junkanooers mobilize and run to his aid was remarkable. He knew that he was well-loved and surrounded. The family could never thank you all enough for giving Philip his roses while he was still here to smell them.

We want to extend a special thank you to Philip’s medical team, Dr. Wesley Francis, Dr. Gemma Rolle, Dr. Adrian Cargill, MBBS, M.S, the Oncology department, and Ingrid Foster of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), the medical staff at Cleveland Clinic Hospital especially, Dr. Nagaragan, and the Accident and Emergency team at the University of Miami Hospital.

To Philip’s beloved Valley Boys, Jets, Wildcats, and the St. John’s College graduating class of 1997, he loved you all to pieces, and he knew that you loved him. You all became family many years ago, and we are forever grateful for how you showed up for Philip.

To those that contributed to Philip’s fundraisers, we cannot thank you enough.  The GoFundMe campaign, Facebook fundraiser, Da Spot Grill’s wing event, Meridian’s T-shirt day, NPCC’s Helner’s Small Group (Myrna) bake sale were all massive successes because of you and your support.

There are a few extraordinary people that we must specially mention. Racquel and Garvin, you jumped into action and never left Philip’s side. Monty and Sarah, you went above and beyond to create a comfortable home for Philip during his stay in Florida. Ronnie, from the moment Phil received his diagnosis in 2019, you stepped in and cared for him as if he was your own.   To Philip’s in-laws, Gary, and Cleopatra Christie, he expressed gratitude for you two every day. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Finally, to Philip’s dream team of caretakers, Gari, Ronnie, LaRoma, Cleo, Rojarra, Jaime, Lucy, and Latoya, you dedicated every moment of the last 18 months to help Philip fight. You did all you could, you did well, and now it is time to take care of each other.

Numerous others have supported Philip in one way or another.  Rest assured that we see you; we recognize you, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

  2. My condolences to you his family. The class of 97 has truly lost a brother. He was full of love, joy and always the life of the party.. 😭😭💔💔 oh Lord MUNCH will truly be missed!!!He will never be forgotten!!!May the God of all comfort continue to comfort you the family during this most difficult 😞 time..

  3. A vibrant, thriving, beautiful, caring, thoughtful, respectful, God fearing young man. As a colleague he was not wasteful on the job very proficient in his work and all that was associated with making the department (building control- m.o.w) better. His positive presence made the moment better whether it was a work assignment discussion or a extra curricular initiative for the department at large. I called him “young blood” and he accepted me calling him that name because of our brotherly and personal friendship we had with one another. It was during a building control fun run/walk event when I gave Philip the nickname “young blood”. On that early Saturday morning of the event out of about 40 to 50 participants Philip came in 3rd place in a relaxed smiling fashion, he look like he could have ran several more miles- hence the nickname “young blood” was given. Today, I say Young Blood I appriciate you, I will miss you my friend and my brother. I thank you for your positive impact on my life. May God Bless your Soul Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

  4. I extend deepest sympathy to Philip’s family especially his Wife- Gari Fenrica and Sons- Liam and Drake. May The Lord God give you the strength, peace and understanding to continue each passing moment. God Bless you.

We had some great moments both on and off the field, you were a big brother neutral and real at all times. Your energy was priceless, your commitment and longevity was unmatched kid. You never changed.

And to Both Gari and Mom be strong you have extended families that are praying and standing in the gap for you as well.

Words are hard to say because it all still seem surreal, really just unreal. My heart is broken, the calm before my storm has left me. My dearest, closest, best friend is gone and the world is truly incomplete without you Phil. The most talented, fun loving, funny, intelligent, protective, witty,, fierce, strong, handsome, stylish, beautiful inside and out never to be duplicated .

To the Family Philip chose, his friends such as I , I wrap my arms around you, for although we aren’t related in blood or through marriage we are related and bonded to Philip through life.

Take your rest my friend, be at ease, run fast and fly high and flash me that smile from heave every once in a while my dear friend.
    IMU , I love you
