State-Recognized Funeral Service for the late Rt. Hon. Dr. Franklin Wilberforce Walkine CMG, CB aged 73 years of Winton Heights will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday 16th January, 2026 at Zion Baptist Church, East and Shirley Streets. Officiating will be Rev. T.G. Morrison assisted by other ministers of the Gospel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, J.F.K Drive and Gladstone Road.

We first met in Junior school in the early 1960s and after completion of that schooling our paths diverged except for the occasional intersections in the following decades. However its was in the last 10 years that we reconnected through our love of golf and the weekly matches at the Ocean Club Golf Club. He loved these matches and the opportunity to get out and enjoy our geography. I fondly remember in 2021 the joy Frank experienced when he won a side in the weekly golf pool. He thought we had conspired to allow him to win that day but as true golfers know his victory was determined by the golf gods for reasons that only they know.
May Frank’s soul rest in peace, eternally.
Carla and I were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Frank Walkine. He was a remarkable neighbour, a golf buddy with a great spirit, and a dedicated public servant who made a real difference in our community. Our hearts go out to you during this loss. May his legacy continue to inspire us all.
Dr. Walkine was my physician while living in the Bahamas. I’ve known him over 36 yrs. I’m so sorry to read of his passing. My prayers go out to his son Zachary and other family and friends.
