A Private Funeral Service for the late Wellington Charles Fernander, aged 90 years, of East St. South will be held on Friday June 12th, 2020, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Coconut Grove Ave. Officiating will be Fr. Simeon Roberts, assisted by Deacon Danny Price. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Infant View Road.

A Private Funeral Service for the late Wellington Charles Fernander, aged 90 years, of East St. South will be held on Friday June 12th, 2020, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Coconut Grove Ave. Officiating will be Fr. Simeon Roberts, assisted by Deacon Danny Price. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Infant View Road.

In compliance with current Government regulations, attendance is limited to thirty (30) family members.

Left to cherish his memory are his Sons: Julius, Bryan, Kevin, Dwight and Dwayne; Daughters: Cheryl Ritchie and Denise Nairn; Son-in-law: Monty Ritchie; Daughters-in-law: Sherilyn, Lana and Miriam; Grand-children: Sheree, Nikia and Alexis Ritchie, Tarique, Ladon, Lavardo, Jewel, Jade, Joette, Latoya and Michelle Fernander, Curtis Jr, and Curshad Nairn, Sergio Fernander, D’Maria, Malea and Diez Fernander; Great-grands: Samuel McNeil, Robert and Rakye Martin, Royaltee Miller and Ladon Wilmott Jr; Siblings: Doreen, Clifford, Iris, Ronald and Spencer Fernander, and Beverly Smith; Sisters-in-law: Audrey and Ernestine; Numerous Nephews and Nieces including: Angela Hinsey, Karen, Clifford, Bruno, Patrice, Yvette, Arissa, Sherwood, Andrea, Bianca, Lissette, Clanell, Arielle, and Decadia Fernander, Karen Myers, Charlene Rowe, Ian Pennerman, Donna, Marcian, Anthony, and Kevin Moxey, Olivia Sweeting, Portia Corbell, Blake, Patrick, and Leonard Smith, Elizabeth Roberts, Charlotte Smith, and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews too numerous to name; A host of relatives and friends including: Janice Ramsey, Jason Lewis (godson), Charles Gibson, Adrian “Adie” D’Aguilar, Audley Dean, Eddie Carey, Branford Chase, Frank Carey, Ambrose Smith, Vernon Campbell, Philip Finlayson, Tim Dames, and Catherine Evans, Cheryl Hoist, Wilmore and Catherine Brown, Thomas, Paul, William, and Delores Dean, Margaret Ahyi, and their families, Dorothy Poitier, Eureka Knowles, Sarahlee Williams, Brenda Hart, Wellington (Zip), Glinton, and Roy Fernander, the family of the late Kenneth Fernander, Antoinette Fernander and Family, Charles and Frederick Hamilton, Arelyn Calhoun, Catherine McPhee, Maxine Rolle, Paulette Jones, Sonia Delaney and their families, Ella, Miriam, Meryl, Ester, and Frederick Arnett, and their families, Lilymae Thompson, Barbara Knowles, Phillip McKenzie, Basil, Ruth, Eleanor, Rembert, Lois and Eric Albury, Desiree Clarke (god daughter), and their families; Lloyd and Huel Campbell and family, Archie Nairn and family, Bishop Godfrey Williams and family, Dale Ferguson-Joseph, Alice Wells, Cleomi McKinney, and the Wells family, the family of the late Patricia Lockhart-Mckinney, Dewey Knight III and Kenny Brown of Miami Florida and their families, the entire San Salvador community, especially the Fernander, Williams, Arnett, Hunt, and Jones families, the faith communities of St Cecelia’s and Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Monsignor Simeon Roberts, Father Noel Clarke, Father Anselm Russell, Father Reggie Demeritte, and the entire Catholic faith community. Father Jude Edomwonyi and family and parishioners of the Church of the Good Shepherd Family in Pinder’s Point, Grand Bahama, the Walker, Hanna, Turner, Deleveaux and Bain families, and neighborhood community of East St South; First Caribbean Bank, BTC, Huntley P. Christie High School, and the District Education Office, North Andros, and President and members of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, law firm of Graham Thompson, St Augustine’s College classes of 1980, 1981, and 1984.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robin Roberts, Dr. Nicholas Fox, the doctors and staff of the Oncology Consultants and the Princess Margaret Hospital, especially Nurse Aretha Cash.

A special and huge Thank You to Maxine Dawkins Streete – Daddy’s guardian angel, who was constantly by his side, especially during the last 3 months of his life. He was ‘in good hands’.

Friends may pay their last respects at Bethel Brothers Morticians & Crematorium, #44 Nassau Street on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
