Sy and I send our love and prayers to the Dean and Scavella families. Mrs. Dean was an icon, a warrior, a font of wisdom for all the girls in our childhood circle. She helped to shape our growth as young women, as citizens, as mothers. She opened her home and her heart to our families. I laughed at her dry wit, I feared her basilisk stare, but above all I loved her for her warm heart. Her passing seems like the end of an era somehow, but above all we are thankful that she is no longer in pain. May her soul rest in peace for all eternity.
