The traditional service consists of removal of remains, a family viewing at the funeral home, a funeral service at a church or in the chapel of the funeral home, and the transportation of the remains of the deceased to the cemetery for interment. The deceased will be embalmed and dressed for family viewing, and repose in one of the reposing rooms for the paying of last respects by family and friends. Acknowledgement cards are provided to the family for use as appropriate.
Traditional Packages
The purchase price of a casket includes the following components:
Please note that the hymn sheets (service booklets or programs) and the provision of a grave site are not included in any of the packages.
Depending on the location of the funeral service, e.g. on one of the Family Islands, some items identified above and included in the Package may not be necessary. In such cases the Package will be customized for the particular funeral service and the items deducted as appropriate.
The biggest misconception about cremation is that there can’t be a funeral service or visitation. This is absolutely not the case – when you choose to care for the physical remains through cremation, we encourage you to consider holding a memorial service as well. There are many options open to you when it comes to honoring your loved one’s life: you can provide a chance for friends and family to say goodbye through a final viewing before the cremation, and you can also hold a formal service either before or after the cremation occurs.
